ANSA holds meeting to boost up Pine nuts industry

Afghanistan National Standards Authority held meeting to develop action plan to facilitate Afghani Pine Nuts’ growth, trade and export. The meeting was chaired by Aziz Ahmadzai, Afghanistan National Standards Authority director general while Yahya Khan Zadran, director for the union of Afghan Pine Nuts traders, deputies and other members of ANSA in attendance.

In the meeting, the drafting of an action plan based on signed MoU between ANSA and the union of Pine Nuts traders was further discussed, topics such as developing national standards for Pine Nuts, launching training programs on standards for pine nuts industry, need for joined efforts for boosting pine nuts  trade, creating standard labels for products and inspection of pine nuts exporters were highlighted.

Moreover, Mr. Zadran sought ASNA’s technical advises for standardization of pine nuts industry.

At the end, Mr. Ahmadzai stressed the importance of Pine Nuts quality and standard assurance in its market growth, adding that more work and collaboration would be needed in order to boost up the trade of Pine Nuts.
